Tonight will be dark, cold and quiet.
The wind will howl through my bedroom window, finding it's way down to chill my toes that peep out from the rainbow coloured pyjama pants. I'll fold my legs up against my chest, hugging the brown fleecy blanket as it purrs with Chilli's every breath. The hallway will groan and I'll focus all of my attention on the movie playing on the screen and my toast that will crumble around my ankles, leaving specks of Vegemite on the faked suede.
Once the movie has finished rolling, I'll get up and sprint over to the light, switch it on and turn off the DVD player. Chilli will follow me into the study and I'll check to see if anyone has left a message or written up a new blog post, maybe I will have gathered more WSPA and GREENPEACE emails that will keep me up for another long period of time before I resort to plondering myself back onto the couch, grabbing a glass of milk on the way, pressing play to the next film and maybe, if I cant work up the courage to get up, I'll fall asleep there.
Tonight will be warm, light-hearted and bright.
The doors will be shut and my toes will be snug in my wooly slippers. Chilli will purr heavily as she sleeps on the chair next to me, maybe I'll play Taylor Swift, or the more uplifting hits from the 80's. I'll watch the acquaintances bounce up on the screen asking how my day has been and I'll look through glorious photographs on deviantart. Mushrooms and spinach will melt in my mouth with garlic and warm risoni; I'll slurp it all down and sway my head to the cheerful guitar chords
